suzenna & chad – july 4th, 2009

•July 25, 2009 • Leave a Comment

a few weeks ago, i had the pleasure to witness and photograph suzenna and chad’s wedding at the lovely nikkei centre in burnaby bc.  i’ve known suzenna through her cousin and my good friend hannah since childhood so it was like old home day being with the families and friends at this beautiful wedding!

after the ceremony and before the reception, it was off to deer lake park for some more wedding party photos.  chad was a trooper even after his poor back injury clamped down on him but he still managed to walk around to help us get some more shots.  normally, this park is super busy on saturdays in wedding season, but we arrived at the perfect time and were the only ones around!

this was the coolest father daughter dance i’ve ever photographed!  suzenna and her dad, king, boogied it up to “daddy cool”

billie woods (http://www.billiewoods.com) is a talented photographer & musician on Salt Spring who I had the good fortune to meet last year.  this spring I found out she was engaged, and was completely flattered to be asked to do photography for her big day next weekend (actually i offered first but still, was pretty excited she asked me to do it!)  she and rodrigo met in brazil and are madly (can’t you tell by the photos?) head over heels for each other. as a “practice” session before next week, they came out to our place on salt spring and then over to ruckle park for a “love shoot.”  i think they need to work on their shyness in front of the camera…

billie had a great button she wanted to use...it says, "i'd rather be smooching my fiance" how fitting!

the most kissed thing…

chloe was born last september and my life has been more than full taking care of her and the rest of my brood!  Just a quick update photo of her, now 10 mths old, in her favourite perch on Daddy’s shoulder….

truly, I don’t think there is a more “kissed thing” than she is – by dad, mum, ryan, madalyn, emma, grandma, grandad, oma, opa, finnegan…who could resist after all?

Last week, I had the pleasure to walk around Queen’s Park with Andrew & Christina, whose wedding is coming up July 19th.  These two were so cute with each other, giggling and dancing their way around the beautiful spots in the park.  Here’s some of my faves…

Wedding and engagement season is here now in full-swing…:)  Let’s hope the sun is here to stay too!

JR & Jodi – engagement session – April 12/08

•April 21, 2008 • Leave a Comment

On the best day of spring so far, I met Jodi and JR by the Shadbolt Centre at Deer Lake Park in Burnaby for some engagement photos.  We were rewarded with a gorgeous day after post-poning during downpours the weekend before.  So nice to see (and feel!) some sun…

Despite the wet ground, Jodi was a trooper with her sexy heels…

You guys were great models.  Can’t wait til next month…hopefully we’ll be back to sun and some warmth by then – here’s hoping!
